Hey There! 🌺
Meet Poppy Wilder
The @AchingAuthor
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m a writer living on the East Coast, navigating a world that’s sometimes a bit too loud for my nervous system and a bit too “stabby” for my joints.
After being met with the double-whammy of Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis, I decided to start this blog to chronicle the glitches in my “human software.” I’m a firm believer that even when your knuckles are aching and your nerves are firing off tiny electric shocks, there’s still room for a little whimsy.
When I’m not typing through the flares: I’m a devoted animal lover who finds more wisdom in a wagging tail than a medical textbook. You’ll usually find me chasing a low-pain day, experimenting with anti-inflammatory treats, or hanging out with my furry best friends.
I’m moving a little slower these days, but I’m still blooming.
Rooted in resilience, even when it stings.

Resources
Finding the right support and information can be a total game-changer when you’re navigating the chronic pain wilderness. Whether you’re looking for clinical facts or just a group of people who actually get it, here are some of my favorite corners of the internet for Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis.
🌸 Fibromyalgia Resources
- National Fibromyalgia Association – A great hub for the latest research, treatment options, and community news.
- SupportGroups.com: Fibromyalgia Section – A warm, anonymous space to connect with others who understand the “stabby” days and the fibro fog.
- Mayo Clinic: Fibromyalgia In-Depth – Clear, clinical information on why our “volume knobs” are stuck on high.
🦴 Osteoarthritis Resources
- The Arthritis Foundation – The “gold standard” for learning how to protect your joints, manage inflammation, and stay moving.
- CreakyJoints – An amazing community for people living with arthritis, full of patient stories and practical lifestyle hacks.
- Osteoarthritis Action Alliance – A library of resources specifically focused on improving quality of life with OA.
🤝 Widespread Support & Tools
MyFitnessPal (Anti-Inflammatory Tracking) – Helpful if you’re trying to track how certain foods (like sugar or nightshades) affect your flare-ups.
American Chronic Pain Association (ACPA) – They offer fantastic “pain management” tools and peer support groups across the country.
The Mighty: Chronic Illness Community – A very whimsical and heartfelt site where people share their personal stories about living with all kinds of health hurdles.
